People who are on the Ketogenic Diet will be able to enjoy weight loss and bodybuilding. The new addition to the dieting bodybuilding category is the weight loss program called the keto diet. The most important part of the diet is the reduction of carbohydrates, particularly simple carbohydrates.

What Is Keto Diet?

The ketosis diet is also known as the diabetic diet or the therapeutic diet. It is a healthy diet that does not require many sacrifices. Before you start on the keto diet, you should determine how long you will need to progress before the desired weight loss. Once you are convinced that you can maintain the weight loss or lose it effectively, you can continue on the custom keto diet plan.

Most people have more than 50% of their total daily calorie intake from protein, which is mostly from carbohydrates and natural sugars. When carbohydrates are broken down into sugar, they create sugar in the bloodstream and increase the glucose level. Too much glucose builds up in the body and causes metabolic disorders.

When the level of glucose is too high, the pancreas starts to secrete the hormone insulin. When the pancreas secrete the hormone, glucose gets transported to the liver and sugar is converted into fat. The level of glucose gets even higher when you eat the food, leaving little chance for your body to use the fat for energy. Your body stores fat around your midsection and this is where you begin to gain weight.

There are times when a normal metabolism is unable to provide the body with enough fuel for energy production. When this happens, the body runs on fat instead of glucose and the body tries to conserve the glucose, so the body is not completely depleted of glucose, so the glucose level rises even higher, creating the perfect environment for increased levels of glycogen and ketones to accumulate.

A good example of the diet is when someone who has diabetes takes off carbohydrates. The body has to search for alternative sources of energy and when there is no place to store energy from fat, the body starts burning fat. The key is to reduce carbohydrates to a smaller quantity that will allow the body to produce energy on its own.

Most of the carbohydrates consumed will be found in complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains, brown rice, potatoes, beans, bread, and beer. Also the amount of simple carbohydrates is less than in the other categories of carbohydrates because the body requires large amounts of complex carbohydrates to be able to produce energy.

Losing Weight With Keto Diet

Fat is one of the main sources of the energy required by the body. The fats are stored in the tissues, making the body retains some fats in the body. If the fats are reduced, the body starts to store other fats in the body.

When the body reaches ketosis, the production of ketones becomes high. Ketones are water-soluble substances that are produced by the breakdown of fat in the body. Ketones are important because they give the body extra energy to generate by using the fat stored in the body as an energy source.

When the body burns the fat, glucose and ketones are released from the fat stores in the body. By eliminating carbs from the diet, the body needs to burn fat to release the ketones, which creates a negative effect on the brain.

The brain will only accept glucose from the body if the body burns the fat. By eliminating carbohydrates from the diet, the brain needs to have an alternative source of energy to generate its own energy.

Conclusion

Some people consider that dieting can increase the level of fat burning in the body, thus making the body burn more fat during the dieting phase and for weight loss. However, this does not happen in the case of the keto diet.
